Tutor Preferences for Matching

After you’ve completed your tutor training and appropriate checks, you’re ready to be matched. We’ll need to get some information from you first, so we can match you with an appropriate student. Please list your preferences as outlined below and email them to the Barrie Literacy Council to the attention of Karena. If completing this form on our website, just click on the ‘submit’ button.

Occasionally we have students who are working different shifts. How flexible are you timewise?

Any preferences you have for a student. Some of things you might like to consider are

Gender

Age

Smoker/non-smoker (of course, smoking is not allowed in the Council but some people may have allergies to any lingering smell of smoke)

Level of student – lower or higher level

Do you have any qualms about teaching basic math, phonics or spelling?

Would you be interested in tutoring a student working on PLARs, credits or grade 12 equivalency?

Anything else?
